FULLERTON, Calif. -- The Torero men's basketball team fell at Cal State Fullerton 67-55 Saturday evening. Sophomore guard Marcus Harris led the Toreros with a career-high 14 points while senior Jito Kok chipped in 12 points and had three blocks to reach 200 in his career.
The Toreros opened up a 19-15 lead midway through the first half on a Brett Bailey three pointer. However the Titans responded with an 11-0 run and led the rest of the way.
After being down by as much as nine points in the first half, the Toreros closed the gap with a 7-0 run to go into the locker room down just two points (30-28) at halftime.
USD out rebounded the Titans 37-36, but poor shooting and turnovers doomed the Toreros in the second half as the Titans were able to extend their lead to 17 points with just over two minutes remaining.
Fullerton finished with four players in double-digits, led by Malcolm Brooks' 16 points.
USD returns to action on Wednesday in their first game in the GCI Great Alaskan Shootout, taking on Loyola at 11:00 p.m. PT. The game will be shown on the CBS Sports Network.
