Barona Day One

USD in 4th place at end of first round, second round suspended due to darkness (Lakeside, CA) - The USD men's golf team is competing at the Barona Collegiate Cup at Barona Creek Golf Club (par 72; 7,324 yards) in Lakeside, California. The Toreros shot a first round team score of 278 (-10) and trail Sacramento State (274), host SDSU (276) and UC Riverside (277). The second round was suspended due to darkness and will restart Tuesday morning at 7:30 am. The Toreros are having a solid second round and find themselves in first place (-15) when play resumes in the morning.

In first round play the Toreros were paced by Grant Forrest (T8 at 68), Alex Chiarella (T12 at 69), Daniel Lopez (T12 at 69), Will Twitty (T31 at 72) and Mathias Dahl (T31 at 72). Playing as individuals are Colin Pearson (T12 at 69) and Skyler Finnell (T49 at 75). UCR's Sam Gillis shot the low round in the opening round with a 64 (-8).
