March 24, 2015 (Eugene, OR) - The USD men's golf team tallied a final day team score of 297 to finish up at 898 (+9), good for 8th place at the Duck Invitational played at Eugene Country Club (par 72, yardage 7020). Arizona State won the team title with their 1-under total of 863, while Sun Devil Jon Rahm won medalist honors with his 4-under par score of 212 (71-71-70). He edged out teammate Max Rottluff (213, 71-72-70) by one stroke. USD senior Grant Forrest tied for 5th overall with four other players at 1-over par 217. Forrest carded rounds of 73-72-72.
Rounding out USD scoring was Alex Chiarella (T22 at 222, 72-77-73), Will Twitty (T52 at 229, 74-76, 79), Mathias Dahl (T60 at 231, 79-78-74) and Colin Pearson (80th at 242, 79-85-78). Torero Daniel Lopez, playing as an individual, finished in a tie for 46th overall at 227 (80-71-76).
Next up for the Toreros will be the ASU Thunderbird Invitational which will take place April 4-5 at the Karsten Golf Course in Tempe, Arizona. That will serve as USD's final tune-up prior to the West Coast Conference Championships (April 13-15).
