SAN DIEGO, Calif. -- The University of San Diego women's tennis team (4-15, 2-7 WCC) ended their season Thursday morning at the Barnes Tennis Center in the quarterfinals of the West Coast Conference Championships. The Toreros dropped a 4-0 decision to the No. 19 Pepperdine Waves (15-6, 8-1 WCC) as the defending champions and top seed competed tough.

In doubles play, the Toreros were able to hang close at the No. 1 and 2 spots. However, the Waves' picked up the first set of the day claiming victory on court three. Although juniors Marta Stojanovic and Shani Blecher began to come back in their set, Pepperdine clinched as 23^rd-ranked Matea Cutura and Christine Maddox defeated No. 87 Dana Oppinger and Drew Spinosa 8-4.

With the lead, the Waves carried that momentum into their singles. A. Runglerdriangkra, ranked No. 90 in the nation, extended the Waves lead grabbing a straight-set decision at the No. 4 spot. In the remaining matches, the top-20 ranked squad proved to be too tough. No. 11 Lorraine Guillermo defeated Stojanovic 6-0, 6-1, while Christine Maddox clinched the quarterfinal victory for the Waves against sophomore Janine Koleta.

With no seniors, the Toreros look forward to progressing into the 2015 fall season.
