April 3, 2015 ASU Thunderbird Day One 
(Tempe, AZ) - The USD men's golf team is competing at the ASU Thunderbird Invitational in Tempe, Arizona on the Karsten Golf Course (par 70, yardage 6,971). After two rounds of the three-round tournament the Toreros find themselves in 5th place out of fourteen teams competing. USD shot team scores of 283-285 and the 6-over par total of 568 (+8) was four shots better than No. 40 Iowa. Host Arizona State is running away with the event at 16-under par 544. ASU teammates Jon Rahm and Max Rotluff are tied for the individual lead with 11-under totals of 129.
USD's Alex Chiarella is tied for 10th overall at even-par 140 (69-71). He is followed by seniors Mathias Dahl (T15 at 141, 70-71) and Grant Forrest (T15 at 140, 72-69), followed by Will Twitty (T47 at 146, 72-74) and Daniel Lopez (T69 at 151, 74-77).
Saturday's final round will begin at 7:30 a.m. with Torero golfers scheduled to tee-off at 8:15 am.
