SAN DIEGO, Calif. -- The University of San Diego women's soccer team's bid to upset No. 4 UCLA, fell short in a heartbreaking double-overtime 1-0 loss to the Bruins Sunday evening in the final game of the Torero Classic at Torero Stadium.

With the loss, the Toreros fall to 1-1-0 overall, while the Bruins improve to 1-1-0 overall.

UCLA scored the lone goal of the match in the 103rd minute, as Hailie Mace slipped the ball to her right, where Zoey Goralski then tapped it into Darian Jenkins, who hit a one-timer into the back of the goal to put the game at its final of 1-0.

San Diego, however, had a goal wiped away by an apparent offside call. At the 40:58 mark, the Toreros sent a cross into a crowded goal box, where USD headed the ball right at the goal, only to have it hit the crossbar, then the rebound found the head of Tori Manfredonia, and she buried the ball into the back of the net. However, the referees waved off the goal, saying that Manfredonia was offside, leaving the contest at 0-0.

The Bruins outshot the Toreros 20-5, and held an 8-3 advantage in corner kicks.

Michelle Craft was saddled with the loss in goal for the Toreros, as she allowed one goal and recorded a season-high seven saves. Her counterpart, Cassie Sternbach, was credited with the win, as she allowed no goals and recorded no saves.

The Toreros will return to action on Thursday, as they hit the road to take on Michigan in a 4:30 pm. non-conference match in Ann Arbor, Mich.
