FULLERTON, Calif. â€" The University of San Diego women's soccer team dropped a 6-3 decision to Cal State Fullerton Sunday evening in a non-conference match at Titan Stadium.

With the loss, the Toreros fall to 2-7-2 overall, while the Titans improve to 8-1-1 overall.

Fullerton got on the scoreboard first, as in the 23rd minute of action, USD committed a foul inside of the goal box, which set up a penalty kick situation for the Titans. Morgan Batcheller took the PK for CSF, and was able to sneak the ball past USD's McKenna Tollack, to give the home team a 1-0 lead.

Just 54 seconds into the second half, USD was back on even terms with CSF, as Victoria Walker sent a pass to Julianne De Armas, who crossed the ball over to Tara Meier, and Meier was able to beat the keeper to the far post, to move the score to 1-1.

Then over the span of five minutes between the 53rd and 58th minutes of action, the Titans managed to score three goals to take a 4-1 lead.

After CSF tacked on its fifth goal of the night in the 72nd minute, USD responded with goals by Caitlyn Kretzschmar in the 80th minute, and Jacqueline Altschuld in the 83rd minute to cut the deficit to 5-3, but the Titans then put the match out of reach in the 84th minute with its six goal of the night, to put the match at its final of 6-3.

USD was outshot by the Titans, 16-12, and San Diego held a 9-0 edge on corner kicks.

McKenna Tollack was saddled with the loss in goal for the Toreros, as she allowed six goals and recorded three assists. CSF's Jenifer Stuart was credited with the win, as she allowed one goal and recorded one save.

The Toreros will return to action on Thursday, as they open West Coast Conference play at the University of Portland. Kick off is set for 7:00 p.m.
