SPOKANE, Wash. â€" The USD men's soccer team (5-6-3, 2-2-0) fell in overtime 3-2 at Gonzaga Friday evening. The Toreros scored back-to-back goals early in the first half, but couldn't hold off the Zags, who were led by Nick Ulowetz's hat trick.

The Toreros jumped out to an early 2-0 lead after a pair of goals in a two minute span. The first followed a 21st minute Merlin Baus corner kick that deflected off a Gonzaga defender for an own goal.

The Toreros' second goal came in the 22nd minute when Freddy Polzer sent a perfectly-placed through ball to Michael Turner who slipped the ball past the goalkeeper to the right.

The Zags answered in the 31st minute when Nick Ulowetz headed in a Jakob Granlund cross, to cut the deficit to 2-1 USD.

Gonzaga scored the equalizer in the 52nd minute when Ulowetz and Granlund connected again after Ulowetz finished a Granlund cross.

Ulowetz completed the hat trick with the game-winning goal in the 92nd minute when he converted a long pass from Ben White.

The Toreros' road trip continues Sunday when they play at Portland at 2:00 p.m.
