TUCSON, Ariz. - The University of San Diego women's tennis team (3-2) lost a 4-1 decision to the No. 58 University of Arizona Wildcats (4-2) on Friday in Tucson, Ariz.

The Toreros earned their point when Colomba DiFilippo claimed a convincing 6-2, 6-2 victory over Sophia Thomas. However that would not be enough as the Wildcats clinched their fourth win of the season with Camila Wesbrooks 6-2, 7-5 win over Sophia Chow in the three spot.

Dana Oppinger and Drew Spinosa pushed No. 56 Lauren Marker and Shayne Austin in a 6-4 doubles battle but fell short to the Wildcat duo. DiFilippo and Maria-Paula Torres lost a 6-3 decision to Arizona's Wesbrooks and Devin Chyphya. Marta Stojanovic and Shani Blecher were in a tightly contest 5-4 match versus Samantha Czarniak and Inge Hendrikx before it was abandoned.

At the start of singles play Stojanovic fell to No. 39 Marker 6-1, 6-2. In the two spot Spinosa lost to Austin 6-2, 6-1.

USD will be back on the court tomorrow in Tempe, Ariz. to face the No. 27 Arizona State Sun Devils. The match starts at 11:00 am.
