SAN DIEGO, Calif. - The University of San Diego men's tennis team (16-7, 4-0 WCC) continued to roll through the WCC as they defeated the University of San Francisco Dons (4-15, 1-4 WCC) 6-0 on Friday in San Francisco. The win makes it 22 straight conference victories for the Toreros. The teams were only able to complete singles play due to weather conditions.

"With rain in the forecast, we made the decision to play indoors today." Head coach Ryan Keckley said. "The facility was beautiful and with a 30 minute warm up, we decided to start with singles due to time restrictions."

No. 49 Uros Petronijevic picked up his 15th win of the season with a 6-2, 6-3 defeat of Nils Skajaa. The senior put the Toreros up 1-0 with his 10th win of the season. It was Petronijevic's 80th win of his USD career.

"Uros got us on the board with a convincing win at the No. 1 spot." Keckley said. "He handled the adversity and conditions well and led the team in the right direction."

Alexandros Araouzos continues to be a force as the anchor of the Toreros line up. The sophomore battled his was to a 7-5 6-1 win over Christian Brockstedt. Araouzos is now riding a five-match winning streak.

"At No. 5, Alex continues to play an important role for this team." Keckley added. "He is extremely confident in his game right now and it is showing on the court. We are really proud of the progress he has made from the fall and his hard work is certainly paying off."

Romain Kalaydjian was the next Torero to add to the lead with his 6-4, 6-4 win in the No. 4 spot over Thomas Takemoto. No. 63 Jordan Angus clinched the match on court two as he played a fast-paced match against Ryan Marker. The Torero senior rallied after dropping the first set 6-4. The teams finished up play as San Diego grabbed the final two points in the No. 3 and 6 spots. Jaan Kononov continues his resurgence as he defeated Vasco Valverde 6-4, 7-6(5). Kononov is 5-1 in his last six matches. Joshua Page finished off a tight match against Woravin Kumthonkittikul 6-7(3), 7-5, 10-5.

"It was worth while to see everyone finish their matches today and end each match on a high-note going into tomorrow. We set our sights on a gritty Santa Clara team and hope that the rain holds off a bit longer."
