SAN DIEGO, Calif. - The USD Men's and Women's Cross Country teams are hosting the USD Invite this Saturday at Mission Bay. The Men's 8km race will begin at 8:00 a.m. while the Women's race will start at 9:00 a.m. This will be the site of the 2016 WCC Championships (Oct. 28), which is the same course where the 2008 and 2011 USA Cross Country National Championships were held.

Teams: Cal State Fullerton, LMU, Pepperdine, Pacific, Valparaiso, and San Diego.

"We are very happy to be hosting our own invite. It gives us a chance to showcase the beauty of our city, along the proximity to our University. It also gives our student-athletes a sense of pride to be able to race in front of their friends, families, and campus community."

Course Layout: The course is run over a spectator friendly, European-style 2,000 meter grass loop running along east Mission Bay Park. The terrain during the first 1,000 meters of the loop is primary flat and very fast. During the second 1,000 meters of the loop the hours includes a series of five small grass inclines. The average width of the course is 15 meters and there are a few sections where the course narrows to about 5 meters in width.

Parking: Parking is free anywhere on East Mission Bay Drive. Please be sure to back into the parking space. You will get a ticket if you don't back into the parking area along East Mission Bay Drive.

Directions From the South or Airport:

Take I-5 North to the Sea World Drive exit

Make a left toward Sea World

Turn right on East Mission Bay Drive.

The cross country course will be on your left, just passed the playground and before the Hilton Hotel. The registration area will be located approximately 200m north from the starting line.

From the North:

Take I-5 South to the Sea World Drive exit

Make a right toward Sea World.

Turn right on East Mission Bay Drive.

The cross-country course will be on your left, just passed the playground and before the Hilton Hotel. The registration area will be located approximately 200m North from the starting line.
