LONG BEACH, Calif. - The University of San Diego women's soccer team scored three second half goals to come-from-behind and claim a thrilling 3-2 win over Long Beach State Friday evening in a non-conference match at George Allen Field.

After LBSU had secured a 2-0 lead with goals in the 12th and 34th minutes of action, the Toreros would go to work in the second half. In the 59th minute of action, Jacqueline Altschuld sent a cross into the goal box, where it found the head of Caitlyn Kretzschmar, and she redirected the ball into the back of the net, to cut the lead in half.

Just 17 minutes later, USD found themselves back on even terms with the 49ers, as Altschuld was on the receiving end of a play this time. Julia Sherwood took a corner kick for USD, and she skied the ball into a crowded goal box. The ball found its way to Altschuld, and she tapped it in at the near post, moving the score to 2-2.

Then with time winding down, Summer Mason was able to score the game-winner. I the 88th minute of action, Lynsee Voss fired off a shot, and missed, but the rebound came right to Mason, and she hit a one-timer into the back of the net, to lift USD to a 3-2 win.

The Toreros were outshot 16-9, but held a 6-4 advantage in corner kicks.

Amber Michel picked up the win in goal for the Toreros, as she allowed two goals, and recorded five saves. Her counterpart, Ashton McKeown, was saddled with the loss for the 49ers, as she allowed three goals and recorded two saves.

San Diego will return to action on Sunday, as they remain on the road and head to Corvallis, Ore. to take on the Beavers of Oregon State University.
