Toreros competing at William H. Tucker Invitational

(Albuquerque, NM) â€" The USD men's golf team is competing in the 63rd Annual William H. Tucker Invitational at the Championship Course (par 72, yardage 7,555) on the campus of the University of New Mexico. Through two rounds the Toreros are in 14th place (16 teams) after firing team scores of 302-307 for a 609 total. Daniel Lopez is the team's top performer after day one following rounds of 74-76 for a tie for 39th at 150 (+6).

San Diego State is the clubhouse leader at 573 (-3) with Colorado State (581, +5) and New Mexico (583, +7) close behind. There is a three-way tie at 4-under par 140 for the individual lead with one round to go â€" Blake Cannon of Colorado State (71-69), Rhett Rasmussen of BYU (69-71) and PJ Samiere of San Diego State (69-71).

Rounding out USD scoring for the team competition is Nick Baines (T49 at 151, 71-80), George Gardner (T68 at 154, 77-77), Nathan Zhao (T75 at 156, 80-76), and Camilo Mexsen (88th at 160, 82-78). David Ricciardelli, playing as an individual, is tied for 59th at 153 (80-73).

Final round play continues Saturday morning.
