SAN DIEGO, Calif. â€" In a game that featured 13 ties and 24 lead changes, the Toreros (5-2) lost at San Diego State 77-76 Wednesday evening. Sydney Williams hit two big three pointers in the final 30 seconds, including one that gave USD a one point lead with 15 seconds left, but the Aztecs' McKynzie Fort scored a driving lay-up with eight seconds left to seal the win for SDSU. The loss snaps the Toreros' four game winning streak over the Aztecs.

Four Toreros scored in double-digits, led by Williams' 17 points. Aubrey Ward-El scored 14 points but fouled out with 1:30 left. Alexandra Hagen continued her breakout season with 13 points and Myah Pace had 10 points and a career-high seven assists.

The game was physical and had a rivalry feeling to it all evening. Neither team led by more than five points until the Aztecs went on a 6-0 run early in the fourth quarter to take a 61-55 lead. The Toreros responded with a run of their own to tie the game at 65-65 with 3:37 left.

San Diego State would push their lead back to five points with 1:32 left, but the Toreros cut their deficit down to one with a Sydney Williams deep three-pointer from the top of the key with 30 seconds left. USD then fouled and after the Aztecs made just one free throw they had a chance to take the lead, which they did on Williams' next three, this one coming with 15 seconds left.

Fort quickly drove down the court and got the bucket to fall with eight seconds left, and then the Aztecs got a steal in the back court to seal the win.

The Toreros shot 47 percent from the floor and had assists on 22 of their 29 baskets. The Aztecs were led by Fort, who had a game-high 24 points. Lexy Thorderson (16) and Naje Murray (10) also had double-digit points.

The Toreros season long road swing continues on Saturday when they play at Seattle at 2:00 p.m.
