SAN DIEGO, Calif. - The Toreros hosted University of Pacific on Saturday afternoon at the Skip and Cindy Hogan Tennis Center. San Diego toppled the co-conference team in a 4-0 shutout. The Toreros improved to 11-8, 3-2 in WCC and Pacific fell to 8-14, 1-5 in WCC play.

San Diego gained the first point of the match in doubles play. The newly ranked No. 72 team of Filip Vittek and Joshua Page defeated Akram El Sallaly and Tadiwa Chinamo 6-3. Clinching the point was the No. 3 team of Guus Koevermans and Pratt Keerasuntonpong, who beat Lance Ngo and Bernardo Oliveria 6-2.

"I was really proud of Pratt and Guus for clinching the doubles point," said Coach Keckley. "Filip and Josh continue to be a rock at the #1 position as well. They have a connection on court that allows them to excel in big moments. This win will give this squad some confidence heading into our road trip to Los Angeles come Thursday."

The Toreros started the singles matches ahead 1-0 and continued the momentum through singles play. Joel Gamerov scored the first point on court five against Ross Watson with a score of 6-2, 6-4. Clinching the win for the Toreros was Joshua Page. Page's defeat against Alex Giannini 6-3, 7-5 on court three ended play and left the Toreros with another win.

"It was a great effort by the team today to earn this win," said Head Coach Ryan Keckley. "I was really impressed with the how fast we started in both singles and doubles. We got on them early which motivated everyone. The crowd and the energy was incredible at the courts and that certainly helped our boys start fast. I want to thank Bill McGillis, Josh Lawrence and all of the USD athletic team's for making it a great day for our boys."

The Toreros play at Loyola Marymount University on Thursday, April 13 at 2:00 p.m.
