SAN DIEGO -
San Diego travels to Loyola Marymount this week to continue conference play. The Toreros (4-7-1, 0-3) will face the Lions at (3-8-4, 1-2-1) on Saturday at 7 p.m. (PT).

LAST TIME OUT
  • Amber Michel recorded nine saves but it was not enough to stop BYU from securing the win in overtime, 2-1, Saturday night in Torero Stadium.
  • USD took an early lead with Summer Mason scoring in the 30th minute off a breakaway from the centerline. She dribbled the ball down the field, out running defenders and shot a screamer from 10 yards to score.
  • BYU scored in the second half to tie up the match and then in the 98th minute to win.
  • Mason led the game with eight shots, two on goal. 


ALL-TIME SERIES AGAINST LMU
  • USD has a 20-3-1 overall record against the Lions.
  • Last year, the Toreros defeated LMU 3-2 at home, with Mason scoring a goal and Kelsi Dantu recording two goals from penalty kicks.
OFFENSE IGNITES
  • Mason and Moses have been the most dangerous up top. Moses leads the team with nine goals and 21 points. She is ranked second in the WCC in points per a game,1.75, and goals per a game, 0.75.
  • Mason is second in the WCC in shots per game, 4.75.
  • USD's five goals against San Diego State are the most goals the Toreros have scored in a single game since Aug. 29, 2014, when they defeated No. 10 Michigan, 5-0.
FRESH LEGS
  • Moses, the red shirt junior transfer from SDSU, has made an immediate impact to offense. She leads the team in goals and shots on goal.
  • Devyn Kelsey a junior transfer from ASU, has made an impact on the Toreros back line. She has started in the last three matches. Over the summer, she played in the U-19 US Women's National Team Camp.
  • Michaela Foster looks to contribute more to the back line. The freshman recently returned from her commitment to New Zealand's U20 national team that competed in the FIFA Women's U20 World Cup in France. In her second match as a Torero, she scored her first collegiate goal off a corner kick against Utah Valley (Aug. 31).
  • Freshman Madison Louderback scored her first collegiate goal against Utah Valley to help secure a 4-1 victory (Aug. 31).
