Toreros Take on the Cougars

SAN DIEGO – San Diego plays host to BYU at Torero Stadium on Saturday at 7 p.m. (PT).

LAST TIME OUT
  • Milan Moses ended the Pilots 347 minute shutout streak, but USD (4-6-1, 0-2) fell short to Portland, 4-1, on Thursday night in Torero Stadium.
  • USD out shot the Pilots, 9-6, in the second half.
  • Moses and Katie Lapomarda recorded goals against Gonzaga to take the match into double overtime, but Gonzaga scored a goal in the 103rd minute to secure the win, 3-2.
  • Amber Michel record two saves in overtime to keep the Toreros alive as long as possible on Sunday.
GONZAGA ALL-TIME RECORD
  • USD has a record of 3-6 against BYU (7-3-1, 2-0).
  • The Toreros beat the Cougars in their meeting last year, 2-1, away. Michel recorded a career-high 11 saves to maintain the Toreros early lead to secure the win.

  • Moses, the red shirt junior transfer from SDSU, has made an immediate impact to offense. She leads the team in goals and shots on goal.
  • Devyn Kelsey, transfer from ASU, has made an impact on the Toreros back line. She has started in the last three matches. Over the summer, she played in the U-19 US Women's National Team Camp.
  • Foster looks to contribute more to the back line. The freshman recently returned from her commitment to New Zealand's U20 national team that competed in the FIFA Women's U20 World Cup in France. In her second match as a Torero, she scored her first collegiate goal off a corner kick against Utah Valley (Aug. 31).
  • Freshman Madison Louderback scored her first collegiate goal against Utah Valley to help secure a 4-1 victory (Aug. 31).
