SAN DIEGO – Allen Luhrs celebrated his final game for the Toreros by scoring his first goal of the season in San Diego's 1-1 draw with Santa Clara on Friday night.

It was a fitting end to a season in which the Toreros (7-7-5, 3-1-3 WCC) battled their way to 13 extra periods, finishing 2-2-5 in overtime matches.Â

San Diego celebrated its five seniors playing in their final match for the Toreros.

Ulber Perez and Luhrs were honored prior to USD's final match of the season.

The Broncos (5-10-2, 1-5-1 WCC) took an early 1-0 lead in the sixth minute after Miles Robinson sent in a right-to-left cross to Andres Jimenez who found the back of the net from 10 yards out. They outshot San Diego in the first half, 3-1.

The Toreros registered just one shot in the first period but it proved to be a valuable one. In the 18th minute,
Chase Van Wey sent a perfect pass from 40 yards out to Luhrs who came sprinting up the middle of the field. Luhrs' header bounced off the left post and was volleyed by SCU goalkeeper Dakota Havlick before ultimately bouncing in for the equalizer. It was the first assist of the season for Van Wey.Â
The Torero back line was instrumental in keeping the Broncos from another goal.

Aidan Marmion and Benjamin played all 110 minutes to hold off the SCU attack.Â
San Diego was outshot, 9-5, while both teams registered five corner kicks. Wiher made two saves in goal for the Toreros, his second was a diving effort in the 103rd minute to preserve the 1-1 tie.
