SAN DIEGO – San Diego continues its first road swing of the season and looks to remain unbeaten when it travels to Washington on Monday at 8 p.m. PT.
 
The Toreros (2-0) continue a season-opening stretch of three games in seven days in three cities. The game will be a homecoming for head coach, Sam Scholl, who grew up in nearby Gig Harbor, Washington.
 
The game at Washington will be televised on the Pac-12 Networks with Guy Haberman and Mike Montgomery on the call. The game will be broadcast on ESPN 1700AM with Jack Cronin calling the game. Live statistics will be available via USDToreros.com.
 
LAST TIME OUT
• Isaiah Pineiro scored a game-high 28 points to lead San Diego to a dominating 76-57 victory at UC Davis this past Friday night.
 
•  Pineiro led the Toreros in scoring for the second straight game after scoring 25 points against Weber State earlier this week and was one point shy of his career high. He finished 11-of-19 from the field, 2-of-5 from 3-point range and also registered eight rebounds and six assists.
 
• It was an impressive offensive night overall for USD, which shot 50 percent from the field and held a lead for 37 minutes throughout the game.
 
• Olin Carter III went shot-for-shot with Pineiro during the first half and early in the second half, finishing with 16 points on 7-of-13 shooting. Isaiah Wright also hit double-digits with 10 points while Tyler Williams and Yauhen Massalski chipped in eight apiece.
 
• The Toreros shared the ball well, racking up 18 assists as a team.
 
• The Toreros defense held the Aggies (0-2) to 38 percent shooting, including a 3-of-23 clip from 3-point range.

ALL-TIME SERIES VS. WASHINGTON
• The Toreros are 1-1 all-time against the Huskies, with their lone win coming in Seattle. USD defeated the Huskies during their first contest in program history, 72-54, on Dec. 30, 2000. The Toreros were edged, 98-94, in the following year's meeting in San Diego on Dec. 1, 2001.
 
FAMILIAR FACES » WASHINGTON
• Head coach, Sam Scholl, is from nearby Gig Harbor, Washington. He grew up a Seattle sports fan and is a big fan of the Seattle Seahawks. Scholl still has many family and friends who live in the Seattle area and there will be roughly 50-60 family members and friends in attendance at the game.
 
• Director of Operations, Lance LaVetter, joined USD after serving three years as an assistant coach at Seattle U. He spent 12 years as the director of basketball operations under Lorenzo Romar at Washington.
 
PAC-12 SCHEDULE
• Washington is the first of four Pac-12 teams on the Toreros schedule this season. USD will play host to Colorado (Nov. 20), travel to Oregon (Dec. 12) and take on Washington State (Dec. 22) in Las Vegas, Nevada.
 
HOT START FOR PINEIRO
• Isaiah Pineiro has had a hot start through the first two games of the season and is averaging a double-double with 26.5 points and 10.0 rebounds per game. He is also averaging 3.5 assists and 2.5 steals per game. Pineiro is shooting 51 percent from the field and 46 percent from 3-point range.
 
FINISHING STRONG
• USD has outscored opponents 97-59 during the second half this season. The Toreros are shooting 57 percent from the field and 48 percent from 3-point range during second halves this season.
 
SENIORS LEAD THE WAY
• The Toreros will be led by four returning senior starters, Isaiah Pineiro, Isaiah Wright, Olin Carter III and Tyler Williams. Pineiro, Wright and Carter III played in all 34 games last year, while Williams appeared in 29 contests.
 
TOREROS RETURN 81 PERCENT OF SCORING
• USD returns 81 percent of its scoring from last year's team that won 20 games, including four senior starters. Pineiro led the Toreros at 15.7 points per game, followed by Wright (13.4), Carter III (12.4) and Williams (8.8).
 
• Among the returners who logged regular minutes last year, Yauhen Massalski was seventh on the team with 4.2 points per game and Alex Floresca recorded 2.6 points per game.
