SAN DIEGO – San Diego has won five of its past six games and will look to remain unbeaten at home when it plays host to CSUN on Sunday at 1 p.m. PT.

The Toreros (7-2) have won five of their past six games and are coming off a 73-61 win at San Diego State. The Matadors (3-5) won their past two games and defeated Cal State San Marcos 76-72 in their most recent matchup.

LAST TIME OUT
• San Diego earned its first victory at San Diego State since 2000 behind a strong second half and a team-high 21 points by
Isaiah Pineiro this past Wednesday night at Viejas Arena.

• The Toreros (7-2) outscored the Aztecs, 47-28, in the second half to erase a seven-point halftime deficit and improve to 2-2 against SDSU over the past four seasons.

• After a rough start from 3-point range in the first half that included a 0-for-11 clip, the Toreros caught fire from deep early in the second half. Five different Toreros connected on 3-pointers in the first 5:33 of the half, capped by
Isaiah Wright who gave USD its largest lead of the game to that point, 45-42.

• The Toreros shot 56 percent from the field (14-25) and 54 percent (7-13) from 3-point range during the second half.

• Along with Pineiro's 21 points,
Isaiah Wright added 18 and
Olin Carter III contributed 10.
Alex Floresca and
Tyler Williams dished out four assists apiece to lead all Toreros.

• The Toreros were excellent defensively and on the boards throughout the night. USD out-rebounded SDSU, 32-30, and held a 10-6 advantage in offensive rebounds.

Finn Sullivan led the rebounding effort with seven, followed by Pineiro with five, and Floresca, Wright and
Akim-Jamal Jonah with four apiece. Wright was pesky defensively and logged a game-high three steals.

• The Toreros needed big contributions from its bench with starter
Yauhen Massalski still out due to injury, and with multiple players getting in foul trouble early in the first and second halves. The bench delivered and outscored SDSU's bench, 10-6. Sullivan provided a spark in the second half, knocking down an early triple and converting a pair of difficult contested layups late. He led the Toreros with seven rebounds.

• Jonah provided size in the paint and grabbed four boards in eight minutes of action. The Toreros held a 28-18 advantage in points in the paint on the game.

Emanuel Hylton earned his first minutes of the season and played well defensively, and
Joey Calcaterra knocked down an important free throw late to help seal the decision.

Isaiah Pineiro led the Toreros in scoring in five-of-nine games and
Olin Carter III has led USD in three games.

• Pineiro is averaging 21.2 points and 7.8 rebounds per game. He is also averaging 2.8 assists and 1.4 steals per game. Pineiro is shooting 53 percent from the field and 36 percent from 3-point range.

• Carter III is averaging 16.8 points per game and is shooting 49 percent from the field. He has been one of USD's most dangerous shooter from behind the arc, connecting on 38 percent of his 3-point attempts. Carter III is also contributing 2.4 rebounds and 1.9 assists per game.

• Wright started the season well but has excelled in the past three games against Jackson State, at Ole Miss, against Long Beach State and at San Diego State. He shot 49 percent from the field, 36 percent from 3-point range, and averaged 17.8 points, 4.8 assists, 3.5 rebounds and 2.0 steals during those four contests.

• Massalski was limited to three minutes of playing time in the Toreros seventh game of the season at Ole Miss due to injury. His status is currently "day-to-day."

BALANCED PLAY BY WILLIAMS

Tyler Williams does a little of everything for the Toreros on both sides of the floor. He is averaging 7.7 points, 4.6 rebounds and 3.7 assists. He holds a 4.7 assists to turnover ratio.

EFFICIENCY IS KEY FOR FLORESCA
• Through the first six games of the season,
Alex Floresca was one of the Toreros most efficient players. He was averaging 6.2 points and 3.3 rebounds in 16.0 minutes per game. He shot 71 percent (15-of-21) from the field and was 3-of-5 (60 percent) from behind the arc.
