SAN DIEGO - San Diego cut a 17-point second-half deficit to five points with 2:13 to play but could not complete the comeback as the Toreros fell to Pacific, 67-55, Thursday night at the Jenny Craig Pavilion.

The Toreros (16-11, 7-8) jumped out to an early, 18-10, lead through the first 10 minutes but fell into a scoring slump during the middle portion of the game. Cameron Neubauer led the early charge for the Toreros, scoring 11 of his 15 points in the first half. He hit four of his first five shots, including three three-pointers.

Olin Carter III did the heavy lifting for USD late, erupting for 13 of his team-leading 16 points in the second half.

Overall, it was a tough night of shooting for the Toreros which shot 38 percent (21-for-55) from the field, 26 percent (7-for-27) from three-point range and 50 percent (6-for-12) from the foul line.
