April 12, 2018 SAN DIEGO – The San Diego women’s rowing team is on the road this week to race at the Lake Natoma Invite in Sacramento, California.
The Toreros are set to compete against some of the toughest crews in the country at the two-day, three-race, 2,000-meter regatta.
USD, No. 2 UC Berkley, Notre Dame, Gonzaga, Sacramento, No. 8 Brown, Alabama and No. 7 Stanford will all race their varsity eight, second eight, varsity four and second four three times over the weekend.
On Saturday morning, all of USD’s crew will race in lane four against No. 7 Stanford, No. 8 Brown, and Alabama.
The V4+, will kick off the day of racing at 9:10 a.m.
At 9:30 a.m. the 2V8+ will start down the course, followed by the V8+ at 9:50 a.m.
The Toreros will then have a break before racing again in the afternoon. In the second racing session, the Toreros will face conference competitor Gonzaga, as well as No. 2 California and No. 8 Brown.
In lane four, the Toreros take up racing at 3:40 p.m. with the V4+.
The 2V8+ will race at 4 p.m., followed again by the V8+ at 4:20 p.m.
On Sunday, USD, still racing in lane four, will race against Sacramento, Alabama and Gonzaga.
Racing starts at 8:10 a.m. with the V4+.
The final races of the weekend from the 2V8+ and V8+ take off at 9:30 and 9:50 a.m. respectively.
