SAN DIEGO – San Diego will look to continue its three-game winning streak at Torero Stadium this week as it begins conference play against Portland and Gonzaga.
The Toreros (4-4-1) are 6-4 in their past 10 WCC openers and will look to continue their history of strong starts against the Pilots (7-4) on Thursday at 7 p.m. (PT). San Diego takes on the Zags (5-2-2) on Sunday at 1 p.m. at Torero Stadium.

LAST TIME OUT
- Milan Moses recorded a hat trick to lead San Diego to a convincing 3-1 victory against Cal State Fullerton Friday night at Torero Stadium.
- Amber Michel recorded eight saves facing 16 shots against Cal State Fullerton.
- Summer Mason scored in the second half in the match against UC Irvine, but it was not enough to overcome the Anteater's early lead and USD fell, 2-1.
- USD held advantages in shots, 14-6, and shots on goal, 10-2, against UC Irvine.
PORTLAND ALL-TIME RECORD
- USD has a record of 7-17-2 against Portland, but has won the last four games against the Pilots.
- The Toreros have scored three goals in two-of-four most recent matches.
GONZAGA ALL-TIME RECORD
- The Toreros have a winning all-time record of 19-5 against Gonzaga.
- USD has a two game winning streak against the Zags, with Michel recording shutouts in both matches.
OFFENSE IGNITES
- Mason and Moses have been the most dangerous up top. Moses leads the team with seven goals and 16 points. She is ranked first in the WCC in points per a game,1.78, and second in goals per a game, 0.78.
- Mason leads the WCC in shots per game, 4.78.
- USD's five goals against San Diego State are the most goals the Toreros have scored in a single game since Aug. 29, 2014, when they defeated No. 10 Michigan, 5-0.
QUALITY DEFENDING
- Michel has registered five or more saves in six-of-nine matches this year, including a career-best 13 stops against Georgia (Aug. 19). She is second in the WCC in saves per game (5.67).
- The Toreros backline – consisting primarily of Emma Barrow, Kelley Carusa, Julianne De Armas, Michaela Foster- has played well to limit the opposition's attack and keep the Toreros within striking distance in each game.
FRESH LEGS
- Moses, the red shirt junior transfer from SDSU, has made an immediate impact to offense. She leads the team in goals and shots on goal.
- Foster looks to contribute more to the back line. The freshman recently returned from her commitment to New Zealand's U20 national team that competed in the FIFA Women's U20 World Cup in France. In her second match as a Torero, she scored her first collegiate goal off a corner kick against Utah Valley (Aug. 31).
- Freshman Madison Louderback has started in five of the seven matches for the Toreros. She scored her first collegiate goal against Utah Valley to help secure a 4-1 victory (Aug. 31).
