SAN DIEGO – In the midst of a three-game winning streak, San Diego returns home for its next Pioneer Football League (PFL) matchup against Valparaiso on Saturday at 2 p.m. at Torero Stadium.
In addition to the three-game overall winning streak, the Toreros are riding winning streaks of 31 conference games and 35 conference home games entering the matchup against the Crusaders. Both stretches were extended the last two weeks with a 31-7 home win vs. Marist in week six followed by a 37-17 win at Davidson in week seven.
The Toreros' 2-0 start in conference play makes them one of three undefeated teams in PFL action (Dayton, 3-0; Drake, 2-0).
Valparaiso is on a six-game losing streak, including two losses in PFL play and three on the road. Last week, the Crusaders fell to Dayton at home, 41-28.
Saturday's game will be available on the WCC Network, with the Voice of the Toreros Jack Cronin on the call. Live stats are also available on the Toreros' website.

AMONG THE BEST
- Taking over for one of the FCS's top quarterbacks last season, redshirt senior quarterback Reid Sinnett has shown he too belongs among the best in the FCS. The Johnston, Iowa native is currently the most productive offensive player in nation as he ranks first in total offense with 358.6 yards per game. He is also third in points responsible for per game as he has generated 22.8 points.
FCS LEADER - REID SINNETT
Total Offense 358.6 1st
Passing Yds. Per Game 347.6 2nd
Passing Efficiency 189.6 2nd
Completion Percentage 71.8% 2nd
Touchdowns 17 11th
Passing Yds. Per Comp. 14.85 11th
- Sinnett has thrown for 1,738 yards so far this season, which is more than then-senior Anthony Lawrence threw for last season in the first five games (1,605). Lawrence went on to set the school record for most passing yards in a season (4,107).
- Almost halfway through the season, Sinnett's current passing efficiency of 189.6 would be the second-best in school history, trailing Josh Johnson's 198.3 from 2007.
- Sinnett is the PFL leader in completion percentage, completions per game, passing touchdowns, passing efficiency, passing yards, passing yards per game, yards per completion, and total offense.
PFL OFFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE WEEK
- With the 350+ yard and 5 touchdown performance last week at Davidson,
Reid Sinnett was named the PFL Offensive Player of the Week for the second time this season.
- Sinnett led all PFL quarterbacks in passing yards, touchdowns and completions while his touchdowns, completions and completion percentage were personal-bests.
AIR DELIVERY
- Under the guidance of Sinnett, the USD passing offense is the third best in the country as it is third in both passing yards per game (347.6) and passing efficiency (189.63). Last year, USD was first in the nation in passing efficiency (170.87) and second in passing offense (349.2). In each of the last three seasons, the Toreros have finished the season in the nation's top-25 in both categories.
- Also, USD is 2nd in the FCS in completion percentage (71.8%) and 10th in total offense (468.0).
TAKING CARE OF IT
- A key part of USD's current three-game winning streak has been the limiting of turnovers as it has one turnover (fumble) during the stretch.
- The Toreros have no turnovers in the last two games while
Reid Sinnett has not thrown an interception in the last three.
- The Toreros turned it over six times (five interceptions, one fumble) in the first two games of the season, going 0-2.
- Last season, USD did not turn the ball over in four games, going 4-0 in those contests.

- Valparaiso is averaging 106.0 yards per game this season and 3.0 yards per carry.
THE OVER-30 CLUB
- The Toreros have scored 30+ points in all five games this year and in eight straight contests dating back to last season.

BANDY MAN CAN

- Bandy has 100+ yards in six of his last eight games dating back to last year and 13 100-yard games in his career.
BANDY MOVING UP THE CAREER CHARTS
- Michael Bandy continues to climb the USD career lists, as he sits fifth in career receiving yards (2,651) and 10th in career touchdowns (21). He needs two touchdowns to reach ninth (Justin Priest, 2014-17) and 78 yards to move into fourth in career receiving yards.
- Bandy is four receptions away from ninth on the Toreros' career grabs list. His 149 receptions trail Nick Garton (153, 2002-05) for the next spot on the list.
- He is averaging 17.8 yards per reception in his career, which is currently sixth best in USD history.

They also won three straight PFL titles from 2005 to 2007 (co-championship).
- The Toreros have reached the FCS Playoffs in three straight seasons and four times in the last five years.
COACH LINDSEY IN HIS SEVENTH SEASON
- Since the 2013 season under head coach Dale Lindsey, the Toreros have won 58 of 76 games, including 31 straight in conference play.
- In PFL play, Lindsey is 47-3 all-time, good for a .940 win percentage. Only former USD head coach Jim Harbaugh (14-1, .933) joins Lindsey as coaches with .800+ winning percentages in PFL history.
- Lindsey is fourth all-time in PFL history in total wins, trailing Rich Chamberlain of Dayton (64), Mike Kelley of Dayton (55), and Kerwin Bell of Jacksonville (51).
