RIVERSIDE, Calif. - The Toreros finished fourth out of a field of 23 teams at the Highlander Invitational on Saturday morning for their second highest team finish in 2019.
Molly Klein paced as the Toreros top runner, recording a personal best 21:07.1 in the 6K. Klein held her own in a crowded field and finished strong to place seventh overall.
"Molly ran an unbelievable race today," said head coach
Will Guarino. "It was great to see her emerge and finish in the top 10."

Madison Lambros continued to improve on the season with a time of 21:32.8. Lambros finished 15th overall, running a full second faster than her previous time at the Roy Griak Invitational in September.

Ally Roessling finished third and fourth respectively for the Toreros. Manes placed 21st overall with a time of 21:49.6, and Roessling finished 26th with a time of 21:59.9.
For the first time this season,
Gianna Sbarbaro broke into San Diego's top five runners. The freshman ran well to finish 39th overall.
"We will look to continue to capitalize on opportunities," said Guarino. "We have to make sure we continue to follow our race plan and create opportunities as we head into championship season."
San Diego will travel to Los Angeles on November 1 for the WCC Championships.
