LOUISVILLE, Ky. — A sixth overall finish from grad
Jake Coleman and a seventh-place team finish from USD women's cross country were the highlights of San Diego Cross Country's trip to Louisville to take part in the Louisville Cross Country Classic on Saturday.
"I loved how the men grouped up to help each other through different parts of the race." said head coach Will Guarino. "They showed determination as they moved up in the final results."
The USD women tallied 364 total points in the Blue 6K race, which was good for seventh place in the 49-team race. They were led by a pair freshman in Sydney Tackett and Clare Boneau who ran a 23:04.3 and a 23:18.5 respectively, good for 49th and 68th place in the 438 runner field. Senior

Brooklyn Hom were just behind in 75th and 81st place. Sophomore Kaitlyn Mcquilen and redshirt junior
Camryn Kozak rounded out the results.
"I was proud of Sydney, Clare, Nathalie and Brooklyn as they seeked each other out in competition," Guarino said.
On the men's side, the Toreros finished 29th overall in the Blue 8K race with 727 points. Freshman Maxwell Gibbons and sophomore Michael Ivory scored second and third for San Diego behind Coleman with times of 26:52.2 and 26:53.5 respectively. Juniors Anthony Lenzini and Jack Devries completed the results for San Diego.

The Toreros will be back on the race course Oct. 18, when they travel to Riverside, Calif. to take place in the Highlander Invite.
