SAN DIEGO On a four-game winning streak, San Diego returns to the road for a crucial contest against Dayton on Saturday at 9 a.m. PT/12 p.m. ET inside Welcome Stadium.

The Toreros, owners of the nation's longest active conference winning streak at 32 games, enter the game with a top-10 offense - and third-best passing game in the FCS - while it has limited its last three opponents to 17 points or less. The stout defense in PFL play is due in part to holding opponents to less than 2.4 yards per rush.

USD is one of two undefeated teams in PFL action (Drake, 3-0). However, Dayton is one of four teams with just one loss so far.

Dayton is coming off a 38-21 conference defeat at Stetson. Saturday is only the third Flyers home game of the season, a place where it is 1-1.

Saturday's game will be available on Facebook Live as well as have live audio streaming at www.USDToreros.com, with the Voice of the Toreros Jack Cronin on the call. Live stats are also available on the Toreros' website.

LAST TIME OUT: SINNETT'S SIX TDS, FIRST-HALF DEFENSE LEAD THE WAY IN 42-17 WIN

- Redshirt senior Reid Sinnett was responsible for six touchdowns, five in the air and one on the ground, while the USD defense held visiting Valparaiso to 55 yards on 23 plays in the first half to help lead the Toreros to a 42-17 conference win against the Crusaders at Torero Stadium in week eight. Sinnett finished 21-of-31 with 271 passing yards while also leading the team in rushing with 63 yards on seven rushes. He connected with senior Michael Bandy for three of the five passing touchdowns as Bandy led the team with eight receptions and 171 yards. The USD defense also forced four turnovers to match its season-high.

ALL-TIME SERIES AGAINST DAYTON

- Saturday will be the 27th all-time meeting between USD and Dayton, with the Toreros trailing in the series, 10-16.

- Despite the disadvantage in the series, USD has won three straight against the Flyers, including last year's 36-34 win in San Diego on October 13. The Toreros were forced to hold off Dayton's comeback attempt as the Flyers scored two touchdowns with under eight minutes remaining, but a two-point conversion on the final score was stopped by the USD defense.

- USD has won six of the last eight meetings and 10 of the 16 matchups since 2003.

- The Toreros have lost two of the last three at Dayton but won the last meeting at Welcome Stadium in 2017 (W, 23-7). USD is 4-4 at Dayton since 2003 (4-9 all-time).

LOOKING AHEAD

- The Toreros continue their challenging stretch of conference opponents as they return home to face Drake on Saturday, November 2 at 2 p.m. Drake enters week nine 3-0 in conference action (3-3 overall).

THE STREAK

- The Toreros are 3-0 in PFL play to start the 2019 season, which has extended their conference winning streak to 32 games - the longest active streak in all of Division I (FCS and FBS).

- The 32-game conference winning streak is the third-longest in FCS history and fifth-longest in Division I history.

- On Saturday, it will have been 1,477 days and just over four years exactly since USD lost a conference game. The last time USD lost a PFL game was at Dayton in 2015 (October 10, 2015).

- Since 2014, USD has won 41 of its last 42 PFL games (.976 winning pct. over that stretch).

- The Toreros have also won 15 straight PFL road games.

AMONG THE BEST
- With the six-touchdown day against Valparaiso serving as a snapshot, redshirt senior Reid Sinnett has established himself as one of the leading offensive threats in the FCS this season. The quarterback is responsible for 25 touchdowns (22 passing, 2 rushing, and 1 receiving), helping him rank second in the nation in points responsible for per game (25.0) and sixth in overall points responsible for (150).

- In addition to points production, Sinnett is among the best in the FCS in other passing categories, including second in passing efficiency, third in passing yards per game, and fourth in passing touchdowns.

- He is the nation's best in total offense (354.5 yards per game).

FCS LEADER - REID SINNETT
Total Offense 354.5 1st
Passing Efficiency 190.4 2nd
Completion Percentage 71.1% 2nd
Passing Yds. Per Game 334.8 3rd
Touchdowns 22 4th
Passing Yds. Per Comp. 14.56 13th

- Sinnett has thrown for 2,009 yards so far this season, which is closely behind the pace of then-senior Anthony Lawrence's record-setting year in 2018 (2,039 in 6 games). Lawrence went on to set the school record for most passing yards in a season with 4,107.

- Halfway through the regular season, Sinnett's current passing efficiency of 190.4 would be the second-best in school history, trailing Josh Johnson's 198.3 from 2007.

- Sinnett is the PFL leader in completion percentage, completions per game, passing touchdowns, passing efficiency, passing yards, passing yards per game, yards per completion, and total offense.

OFFENSIVE PRODUCTION

- Under the guidance of Sinnett, the USD passing offense is third-best in both passing yards per game (340.8) and passing efficiency (191.01). Last year, USD was first in the nation in passing efficiency (170.87) and second in passing offense (349.2). In each of the last three seasons, the Toreros have finished the season in the nation's top-25 in both categories.

- Also, USD is third in the FCS in completion percentage (71.4%) and 10th in total offense (467.7).

SCORING OUTPUT

- San Diego scored a season-high 42 points last week against Valparaiso, its most points in a game since scoring 56 against Davidson on November 10, 2018 (Week 11).

- San Diego has scored 30+ points in all six games this year and in nine consecutive games dating back to last season.

- The Toreros are averaging 35.0 points per game, the fourth-best mark in the PFL and 21st in the FCS. Last year, the Toreros averaged 37.8 points per game, which was second in the PFL and 10th in the FCS.

- The Toreros have scored 30+ points in 16 of their last 17 PFL games, a stretch that goes back to 2017.

EXPLOSIVE PLAYS

- The Toreros scored two of their six touchdowns against Valparaiso on explosive plays (20+ yard plays): 50-yard and 75-yard touchdown catches by Michael Bandy and delivered by Reid Sinnett.

- This season, USD has 34 plays of 20+ yards, which is 8.7% of their total plays this year. Last week's total of two against Valparaiso was actually its fewest in a game this season, but USD still has 15 explosive plays in three PFL contests.

- Of the Toreros' 390 total plays this season, 102 of them (26.2%) are for 10 or more yards. They are averaging 7.2 yards per play. Last year, the Toreros averaged 7.0 yards per play (5,647 yards, 807 plays).

STINGY D

- The Torero defense has bounced back from the first two losses of the season by being stingy in the PFL play. USD is first in the conference in total defense for PFL-only games, allowing 268.7 yards per game.

- Part of the stout defense is limiting PFL opponents in the run game as USD is averaging 82.7 rushing yards per game, the best mark in the PFL. The Toreros' PFL opponents are averaging 2.5 yards per carry (248 yards, 101 rushes).

- In the last four games, including a win against Harvard, USD has surrendered 2.4 yards per carry (307 yards, 129 rushes).

- In the first two games of the season, opponents averaged 6.7 yards per rush (529 yards, 79 rushes).

- USD is second in the PFL in scoring defense in conference-only games as opponents are averaging 13.7 points against.

TAKING CARE OF IT

- A key part of USD's current four-game winning streak has been the limiting of turnovers as it has one turnover (fumble) during the stretch.

- The Toreros have no turnovers in the last three games while Reid Sinnett has not thrown an interception in the last four.

- Sinnett has not thrown an interception in his last 143 pass attempts.

- The Toreros lead the conference in turnover margin (+8) in PFL-only games this year.

- The Toreros turned it over six times (five interceptions, one fumble) in the first two games of the season, going 0-2.

- Last season, USD did not turn the ball over in four games, going 4-0 in those contests.

ALL-AMERICAN CANDIDATE ONCE AGAIN

- Senior Michael Bandy broke out in the Valpo win, recording a season-high 171 receiving yards on eight catches and three touchdowns. It was his fourth 100-yard game this season and third multi-touchdown effort.

- In the last two games, Bandy has 17 catches, 289 receiving yards and five touchdowns.

- Bandy is sixth in the FCS in receiving touchdowns (8) and third in receiving yards per game (113.3).

- Bandy has 100+ yards in seven of his last nine games dating back to last year and 14 100-yard games in his career.

BANDY MOVING UP THE CAREER CHARTS

- Michael Bandy continues to climb the USD career lists, as he is fourth in career receiving yards (2,822) and tied for eighth in career touchdowns (24). He needs two touchdowns to reach seventh and 289 yards to move into third in career receiving yards.

- Bandy is also ninth on USD's career receptions list. His 157 receptions trail Reggie Bell (172, 2010-14) for eighth.

- He is averaging 18.0 yards per reception in his career, which is currently tied for fourth-best in USD history.

- Among active FCS players, Bandy enters this week fifth in career receiving yards (2,822) and fourth in career average yards per game (76.3).

TOREROS IN 2019

- USD is in its 57th season of play, and 27th season as a member of the Pioneer Football League. The Toreros own the second-most PFL titles with 10 (Dayton leads with 12) and have won seven of the past eight PFL championships (2018, 2017, 2016, 2015c, 2014, 2012c, 2011c). They also won three straight PFL titles from 2005 to 2007 (co-championship).

- The Toreros have reached the FCS Playoffs in three straight seasons and four times in the last five years.

COACH LINDSEY IN HIS SEVENTH SEASON

- Since the 2013 season under head coach Dale Lindsey, the Toreros have won 59 of 77 games, including 32 straight in conference play.

- In PFL play, Lindsey is 48-3 all-time, good for a .941 win percentage. Only former USD head coach Jim Harbaugh (14-1, .933) joins Lindsey as coaches with .800+ winning percentages in PFL history.

- Lindsey is fourth all-time in PFL history in total wins, trailing Rich Chamberlain of Dayton (64), Mike Kelly of Dayton (55), and Kerwin Bell of Jacksonville (51).
