SAN DIEGO - The Toreros (6-8-1, 2-4 WCC) will look to extend their home winning streak with a matchup against Pepperdine (8-6-2, 4-2 WCC) on Friday night. San Diego will honor five seniors prior to the contest. Kickoff is set for 7 p.m. (PT).
The Senior Class
San Diego's senior class consists of six players, five of whom will be honored at Friday's match. The senior class is made up of some of the top players in program history and five California natives.
Midfielder
Milan Moses has been key for San Diego's offense the past two seasons. The SDSU transfer made immediate impact in her first season with the Toreros, ranking in the top 10 of four different single-season records. Moses currently leads the team in goals, points, shots, and shots on goal.
The San Leandro native will graduate as one of USD's top midfielders and has scored in the past three matches for the Toreros.
San Diego native
Amber Michel will also finish her storied career this season. The goalkeeper broke the career saves mark earlier this season and now ranks as one of USD's all-time best. A four-year starter, Michel has recorded 77 saves in 2019 and has seen over five thousand minutes of action over her career.
Defender
Kelley Carusa joins Michel as one of two San Diego natives in this year's senior class. Carusa has been a pivotal part of the Toreros backline and has served as a four-year started. She has also been named a two-time WCC All-Academic honorable mention selection for her work in the classroom.
Yorba Linda native
Halle Walls has emerged as a key piece to San Diego's midfield. The senior recorded two goals against Holy Cross in 2019, earning Star of the Month honors from the San Diego Sports Association. Walls is also a three-year starter and two-time WCC All-Academic honorable mention selection.
Also in the midfield,
Emma Barrow has become a consistent starter for the Toreros in 2019, starting six contests so far. The Castro Valley product has recorded a .417 shot on goal percentage throughout her career.
Goalkeeper
Angelica Sheils serves as the sixth member of the senior class. Sheils will be honored next Wednesday at the match versus Pacific due to ROTC commitments. Sheils prepped at Naples High School in Italy and was named to the All-Europe team her senior and junior seasons.
Last Time Out
The Toreros are coming off a two-game road stretch facing both San Francisco and No. 4 BYU on the road. USD fell to the Dons in double overtime after Moses scored the opening goal in the 22nd minute.
