SAN DIEGO - The Toreros (4-5-1, 0-1 WCC) will look bounce back at home with a matchup against St. Mary's (6-5, 0-1 WCC) on Wednesday, before heading north to face Santa Clara (6-5-1, 0-0-1 WCC) on Saturday afternoon.
WINNING WAYS AT HOME
San Diego will look to remain unbeaten at Torero Stadium on Wednesday, as the Toreros hold a 3-0-0 record at home so far in 2019. All three victories have been decisive with shutouts occurring in each contest against LIU, Holy Cross, and Cal Poly.
The Toreros currently hold a two-game winning streak against the Gaels, winning 1-0 on the road in 2018.
Devyn Kelsey scored her first goal as a Torero to secure the win. San Diego outshot the Gaels 13-7 with six shots on target.
San Diego holds the all-time record against St. Mary's at 17-10. The Toreros have scored 47 times in the series dating back to 1992.
The Gaels are coming off of a 4-0 loss at home to San Francisco to open up WCC play. St. Mary's outshot the Dons 12-11 in the second half, but were unable to break through in the contest.
Wednesday's contest will serve as the annual Pink Game for Breast Cancer Awareness. Two player's mothers will be honored at halftime, and San Diego will wear pink uniforms for the match. Kickoff is set for 7 p.m. (PT).
BACK ON THE ROAD
The Toreros will travel for their eighth match of the year to face Santa Clara on Saturday at 1 p.m. (PT). San Diego is still looking to break through on the road in 2019 with the sole road win coming against cross-town rival SDSU back in September.
San Diego will look for its first win against the Broncos since 2016. In 2018, the Toreros lost in heartbreaking fashion at Torero Stadium, 2-1 in overtime.
Milan Moses scored in the 89th minute to tie the match, but Santa Clara quickly responded for the golden goal early in the overtime period.
Santa Clara will travel to Pacific on Wednesday, before returning home to face the Toreros. The Broncos opened WCC play with a 2-2 double overtime draw against then No. 4 BYU. Courtney Ogren has been solid in net for the Broncos with 43 saves and over one thousand minutes of action in 2019.
