SAN JOSE, Calif. -- Despite a 29-point performance from its bench, San Diego (3-1) fell 88-82 to San Jose State (5-2) on the road on Saturday afternoon.
For the fourth straight contest, the Toreros had four players score in double figures, led by
Madison Pollock, who had 17 points and six rebounds. Senior
Patricia Brossmann added 15 points and seven rebounds, and
Leticia Soares chipped in as well with 11 points and seven rebounds.

San Diego crashed the offensive glass, pulling down 20 boards that resulted in 20 second chance points.
Myah Pace led the way defensively with four steals on the afternoon. San Diego's defense forced 24 turnovers in the contest, turning the takeaways into 29 points on the offensive end of the floor.

San Diego started off strong, putting together a 31-24 lead heading into the second quarter. The Toreros did most of their damage in the paint in the period, scoring 16 of their 31 points close to the basket.
The Toreros maintained their lead in the game's second frame and entered halftime with a 52-45 edge. San Diego forced nine San Jose State turnovers in the period, scoring 14 points off of takeaways.
The Spartans came out swinging in the third to put San Diego down 68-64 entering the fourth quarter. The Toreros struggled to connect in the period shooting only 18.8 percent from the field.

Jordyn Edwards looked to shift the momentum early the fourth as the Toreros came within two with eight minutes remaining. Soares hit a jumper in the paint to put San Diego within three with under a minute to go, but San Jose State secured the win 88-82.
