EUGENE – San Diego women's tennis were defeated by Oregon in their second match of the weekend, 5-2.
 
The Toreros started strong and won the doubles point for the third match in a row. Gemma Garcia and Kati Kukaras won the first match at the No. 3 position, 6-1. Solymar Colling and Maria-Paula Torres cliched the doubles point with a win at the No. 1 spot, 6-2.
 
Sophia Chow was the only Torero able to win in singles. She defeated Taryn Fujimori at the No. 6 position 6-1, 6-0.
 
The women played out the match. Paiton Wagner pulled off the second point for the Ducks, defeating Maria-Paula Torres (6-3, 6-2).
 
Shweta Sangwan broke Collings singles win streak at the No. 1 spot, 6-1, 6-3.
 
Rifanty Kahfiani beat Kati Kukaras 6-0, 6-2 at the No. 3 position, and Daniela Nasser defeated Daniela Morales at the No. 2 spot, 7-5, 6-1.
 
Gemma Garcia put up a long fight, but lost at the No. 5 position, 6-2, 4-6, 6-4, to Allison Mulville.
 
The Toreros fall to 2-2, while the Ducks improve 6-3 overall.
 
The women return home to play Hawaii, February 19 at 1 p.m.
