The Toreros (18-12, 7-8 WCC) are coming off a dramatic 91-90 comeback overtime victory at San Francisco on Thursday night. The Cougars (18-12, 10-5 WCC) were idle Thursday night and have lost their last two games.

LAST TIME OUT
• Olin Carter hit a buzzer-beater at the end of regulation and
Isaiah Pineiro scored 28 points to lead San Diego to a dramatic 91-90 comeback victory in overtime at San Francisco this past Thursday night in War Memorial Gymnasium.

• The Toreros erased a 10-point deficit in the final 3:33 of regulation, capped by a Carter III 3-pointer bank-shot at the buzzer to send the game to overtime.

• Pineiro scored all nine of USD's points in overtime to seal the Toreros comeback victory. The win was USD's fourth straight against the Dons.

• The Toreros were impressive down the stretch in regulation, scoring 12 points in the final 1:22. Carter III led the way by scoring 10 of those 12 points.

• Pineiro took over in overtime and outscored the Dons 9-8 in the extra period.

• Pineiro finished the game with a game-high 28 points – two shy of his career high. He also pulled down 11 rebounds for his 14th double-double of the season and eighth in the past nine games.

Isaiah Wright added 24 points – his most since Dec. 23 and one shy of his season high of 25. Carter III finished with 16 points.

• USD is 5-14 all-time against the Cougars and have dropped the last two meetings.

• The Toreros dropped a heartbreaking 88-82 decision at home in the first game this year on Feb. 14. USD led nearly the entire game and held a 14 point lead with 16:06 to play but needed a last-second layup by
Isaiah Wright to send the game to overtime.

• The Cougars took over in the extra period, connecting on 4-of-5 shots from the field while the Toreros went 0-for-3. USD's only points in overtime came at the free throw line, hitting 7-of-8 attempts. It was a tough defeat for the Toreros, which led for 35:18 of the game and shot 52 percent from the field.

• USD has battled through injuries to starters

• Massalski missed three games (Dec. 1-9) after sustaining an ankle injury in the first three minutes at Ole Miss (Nov. 28). Wright missed four games (Dec. 29-Jan.5) after a wrist injury during a double-overtime game against Drake (Dec. 23). Carter III missed five games (Jan. 17-Feb. 2) due to an abdominal injury in the second half against Pepperdine (Jan. 12).

Isaiah Pineiro has led the Toreros in scoring in 17-of-30 games (57 percent) and
Olin Carter III has led USD in seven games. The duo tied for the most points against BYU (Feb. 14) with 20 apiece.

• Pineiro is averaging 19.5 points and 9.4 rebounds per game. He is also averaging 2.2 assists and 1.3 steals per game. Pineiro is shooting 50 percent from the field and 38 percent from 3-point range.

• Pineiro leads the Toreros with 14 double-doubles on the season and has registered double-doubles in eight of the past nine games. He is averaging 19.9 points and 11.3 rebounds in the last nine games.

• Carter III is averaging 15.9 points per game and is shooting 46 percent from the field. He has been one of USD's most dangerous shooter from behind the arc, connecting on 37 percent of his 3-point attempts. Carter III is also contributing 2.5 rebounds and 1.7 assists per game.

Isaiah Pineiro joined USD's 1,000 point club during the Toreros game at Loyola Marymount on Feb. 7. He has 1,118 points and is 20th all-time in career points in USD history.

WRIGHT LEADS THE OFFENSE
•
Isaiah Wright returned to the lineup against Portland (Jan. 17) after missing four games due to a wrist injury sustained during the Toreros game against Drake (Dec. 23). Wright was excellent in his return, recording 11 points, eight rebounds and four assists.

• Wright started the season well but began gaining steam right before his injury. During a nine-game stretch from Nov.24-Dec. 23, he was shooting 46 percent from the field, 35 percent from 3-point range, and averaging 15.4 points, 5.2 assists, 3.7 rebounds and 1.4 steals.

• Wright is contributing 12.9 points, 4.9 assists, 3.9 rebounds and 1.4 steals per game on the season.

• Wright has 303 assists with the Toreros. He needs four assists to tie Ross DeRogatis and Mike McGrain for ninth all-time in career assists in USD history.
