WCC TOURNAMENT HISTORY

• USD beat Pepperdine, 62-59, the night before its win against BYU in its first game of the postseason. The Toreros gave Saint Mary's all it could handle in the semifinals but fell 69-66.

• The Toreros most recently won the WCC Tournament title during the 2007-08 season. It was the last year the tournament was hosted at a conference institution and USD won the tournament on its home floor in San Diego, defeating No. 20 Gonzaga, 69-62. USD received the automatic bid to the NCAA Tournament and beat Connecticut 70-69 on a buzzer beater in the first round in Tampa, Florida.

THE ROAD AHEAD
• USD's path to the WCC Tournament title would require five victories in six days. The Toreros path to the championship game began with 10th-seeded Portland (W, 67-47), and is followed by No. 6 Santa Clara (W, 62-45), No. 3 BYU (W, 80-57) and No. 2 Saint Mary's.

• The Toreros went 2-0 against the Pilots during the regular season but will be seeking revenge against the rest of the bracket, holding a combined 0-5 regular-season record against the rest of their side of the bracket.
