SACRAMENTO—San Diego women's rowing competed in the 2019 WIRA Championships on Saturday and Sunday.

The Western Intercollegiate Rowing Association hosts the annual regatta to close out the regular season, with collegiate programs from all along the West Coast participating. The Toreros raced five boats in the two-day event on Lake Natoma, taking home three silver medals and two fourth place finishes.

Reyna Kirschel and cox Roshni Pole placed fourth with a time of 6:55. USD trailed first place SDSU, Sac State and LMU, finishing ahead of Stanford and Portland.

San Diego's V4+ took home a second-place finish with a time of 7:30. The crew of

Sarah Krystman and cox Juliette Odwadadefeated LMU, Portland, Sac State, Stanford and Saint Mary's, trailing only SDSU in the A final.

Negahr Rastguiy and cox Kertin finished fourth with a time of 8:14.

The Novice 4+ also placed second, with a time of 7:41 trailing LMU by less than a tenth of a second at the line.Â

The crew of Finnie, Stengel, Dunleavy,
Desiree Jason and cox Kertin defeated Seattle Pacific, Pacific Lutheran, Portland, Arizona State, and Puget Sound to close out the weekend.

The Toreros will return to Lake Natoma on May 18 for the WCC Championships.
