SAN DIEGO – San Diego grew stronger with the additions of incoming freshmen Marvin Schaber and Sacchitt Sharrma, as announced Monday by head coach Ryan Keckley.
 
The six-time defending WCC champions graduated just one senior from last year's team that advanced to the second round of the NCAA Tournament.
 
Schaber and Sharrma will help solidify the Toreros lineup and add depth to the group. Schaber joins USD from Baden-Wurttemberg, Germany, while Sharrma makes the trip from New Delhi, India.

MARVIN SCHABER

• Had a 13.13 UTR rating as of April 15, 2019
• Won the 2018 Germany U18 Regional Singles Championship
• Placed third at the 2018 U18 National Doubles Championships in Germany
• Finished 2018 ranked fifth in the U18 junior rankings and 144th in the German Men's Rankings

• Earned a career-high ranking of No. 77 in ITF Junior Rankings in 2019
• Ranked No. 1 in India's U18 rankings in 2017 and 2018
• Won singles at the Nan Ying Cup ITF Jr. Grade 2 in Taiwan in May of 2018
• Won singles at the ITF Jr. Grade 4 in Delhi in November of 2018
• Quarterfinalist at the 2018 BI in India
• Ranked the top 100 in ITF Junior Rankings at No. 89 in 2018
• Selected as leading player to represent Team India at the 2017 Junior Davis Cup
• Finished 10th at the Junior Davis Cup
• Finalist (singles) and winner (doubles) at the ITF Junior Grade 4 in Thailand in June of 2017
• Won doubles at the NBU Cup ITF Junior Grad 3 in Uzbekistan in August of 2017
• Won singles and was runner-up in doubles at the ITF Junior Grade 4 in Hyderabad in September of 2017
• Won singles at the U18 Junior National Championships in Delhi in October of 2017
