Tastad Joins Toreros

Sophomore racked up 204 digs last season at Oregon

SAN DIEGO – San Diego grew stronger with the addition of Camryn Tastad, as announced Monday by head coach Jennifer Petrie.
 
Tastad, a native of Solana Beach, California, joins the Toreros as a sophomore transfer after playing her freshman season at Oregon.
 
Tastad appeared in 32 matches and 111 sets for the Ducks last season. The libero was third among Oregon players with 46 assists and fifth with 204 digs.
 
A 2018 graduate of Santa Fe Christian High School, Tastad boasts a wealth of high school and club accomplishments. She completed her prep career ranked among the top 10 in multiple career, single-season, and single-match San Diego CIF records. Tastad Helped lead her team to the 2017 CIF Division I championship and the 2016 CIF Open Division championship.
 
Tastad was named a first-team Under Armour All-American and Gatorade All-America Heart and Hustle Award winner in 2017.
 
Tastad played club for Wave Volleyball where she helped lead her team to two SCVA first-place finishes. She was a two-time AVCA Phenom, a 2017 Prep Volleyball All-America third team, and the only libero named to GNJC Supernova.
 
Tastad joins a talented Toreros team that is coming off a Sweet 16 run in last year's NCAA Tournament, defeating Cal Poly and USC during the competition.
