FULLERTON – Hannah Rasmussen led the Toreros on Saturday, finishing 19th overall with a time of 18:42.1 at the Mark Covert Classic.
The Maineville, Ohio native has been a steady force for the Toreros. Rasmussen is coming off of an impressive sophomore campaign where she broke the school-record in the 5k and recorded a new personal best.
"Loved how Hannah piloted the women's team," said head coach
Will Guarino. "She was hungry and moved up well throughout the race."
Molly Klein also had an impressive finish for San Diego placing 25th overall with a time of 18:54.2.
Madison Lambros snuck into the top 30 running 19:00.7 on the day. Lambros and
Cassidy Kuhn were able to pace one another as Kuhn finished with a time of 19:30.8.
Sera Parvin saw improvement, running her best cross-country race to date with a time of 19:28.7.
"She has matured well and is growing into a racer on the grass for us," Guarino said. "Her running 4th today for us was a key contribution in our overall team success."
San Diego finished fourth in the team standings behind Cal State Fullerton, Cal Baptist, and the Cal Coast Track Club.
The Toreros will host the USD Invite on Sept. 13 for their second race of the season.
