SAN DIEGO – Hannah Rasmussen led the Toreros once again on Friday evening, finishing second overall at the USD Invite. San Diego finished third in the team standings ahead of CSUN.
Rasmussen chased down the field in the final meters to secure a runner-up finish in the 6K with a time of 22:02.71.
Molly Klein and
Cassidy Kuhn also earned top 20 finishes, running 22:50.12 and 23:03.86 respectively. Both runners shaved time off their finished from the 2018 USD Invite, with Klein running almost a full second faster and Kuhn running over 50 seconds faster in 2019.
San Diego was able to round out the top 30 in the field with seven runners claiming places 24 through 30. Freshman
Gianna Sbarbaro and
Nina Reamer saw improvement from the first meet in 2019 with Sbarbaro contributing points to San Diego's final team score.
The women will look to continue to improve in 2019 as they travel to Minnesota for the Roy Griak Invitational on Saturday, Sept. 28. Racing is set to begin at 9:30 a.m.
