STOCKTON, Calif. – San Diego travels to Pacific for the first time this season as the Toreros and Tigers will face off on Saturday at 7 p.m. at the Alex G. Spanos Center.
USD is coming off a 69-44 home loss to San Francisco on Thursday while Pacific snapped its three-game losing streak by taking down LMU at home.
The Toreros won the only meeting between the two schools last season, a 73-64 triumph in San Diego.

ALL-TIME SERIES AGAINST PACIFIC
- Saturday will be the 22nd all-time meeting between USD and Pacific. The Toreros trail in the series, 8-13.
- San Diego took the lone matchup in 2019, a 73-64 win at home on January 5, 2019.
- The two sides have not faced off in Stockton since January 11, 2018. In that 74-40 USD loss, the Tigers were 33-of-35 (94.3%) from the free throw line while USD was 11-of-15. Two Toreros, Isaiah Pineiro (23) and Tyler Williams (20), both had 20-point games.
- USD has lost four of the last five to Pacific.
- The Toreros are also 2-9 all-time in Stockton and have not won there since February 15, 2014 (five-game road losing streak).
LOOKING AHEAD
- The Toreros, who are in a five-game stretch in which they play four home games, will host Saint Mary's on Thursday, February 6 at 8 p.m. The game will be on ESPN2 or ESPNU.
MARION'S HELPERS
- Redshirt freshman Marion Humphrey, who returned to the starting lineup on Thursday against San Francisco, had three of USD's 10 assists in the game. The point guard has three or more assists in seven of the last 10 games.
- Over the last 10 contests (since Dec. 21 vs. Stanford), Humphrey is averaging 3.2 assists and has a 2.3 assist-to-turnover ratio. His totals include 32 assists and 14 turnovers.
- Humphrey enters the weekend T-12th in assists in WCC-only games (2.8).
B'S DOUBLE-DIGITS
- Braun Hartfield turned in 11 points against San Francisco, his 17th double-digit scoring game of the season. The redshirt junior has 10+ points in four of the last five.
- Hartfield, the team's leading scorer, is averaging 14.2 points on 21-of-64 (32.8%) in the last five games as well as 5.0 rebounds. He is 80.8% (21-of-26) from the line over the stretch.
- Hartfield is the team leader in double-digit scoring games (17), leading Joey Calcaterra (15) by two.
JAMES IN WCC PLAY
- James Jean-Marie had eight points and seven rebounds against San Francisco, helping him put up steady numbers in his first season of WCC play. The junior is averaging 8.8 points on 46.6% shooting (27-of-58) while also grabbing 3.8 rebounds.
- Jean-Marie has four games of eight-or-more points in eight WCC contests.
BLOCK BY BLOCK
- Yauhen Massalski totaled three blocks last weekend against Santa Clara, his 16th career game with three or more blocks. The junior also had one against San Francisco on Thursday, giving him a team-best 20 blocks this season (1.4/game).
- Massalski currently ranks fifth in program history with 113 career blocks. He is only the fifth Torero to have 100+ blocks in a career, and he has 40+ blocks in each of his first two seasons at USD.
- The Belarus native has a block in 11 of his 14 games this year. He has at least one block in 56 career games, which are the third-most since 2010-11 by a Torero (source: Sports Reference). Jito Kok (2013-16) had 111 career games with at least one block to lead the program.

ON THE BOARDS
- In addition to accumulating blocks, Yauhen Massalski has been the team leader in rebounds in three of the last four games. He has double-digit rebounds in two of the last three, including 10 against Santa Clara last Saturday and 14 at Portland two weeks ago.
- In the last four games, Massalski is averaging 8.8 rebounds. He has a 6.8 clip for the entire season.
- Massalski, the team's leading rebounder in average, is fourth on the team in total rebounds (95) despite missing nine games. He is third on the team in offensive rebounds (34).
FROM BEYOND THE ARC
- USD attempted a season-low 12 three-pointers against San Francisco. Prior to the game, the Toreros were averaging 21.4 three-point attempts this year.
- The Toreros only hit one three-pointer against the Dons as they are 4-of-33 (12%) from long distance in the last two games. Prior to this stretch, USD had 10 three-pointers in back-to-back games on January 16 and 18.
