MOORPARK, Calif. – Led by freshman Andi Xu's 4-under 209 (73-65-71), San Diego golf wrapped up its fall schedule with a second-place finish at The Rustic Collegiate Classic at the Rustic Canyon Golf Course (Par 71, 6,964 yards).

Xu, who entered the day atop the leaderboard, finished in a tie for second to record his second runner-up finish of the fall and third top-10 in as many events. He shot even par 71 in the final round, boosted by an eagle on the par-4 12th hole, and finished the tournament with two of his three rounds at par or better.

USD, meanwhile, finished runner-up with the help of three Toreros finishing in the top-12. In addition to Xu, Charlie Reiter (seventh) and Ryan Bisharat (T-12th) were among the field's top scorers as Reiter shot 2-under 211 (70-70-71), carding par or better in all three rounds, while Bisharat was 4-over 217 (70-74-73).

The Toreros, as a team, finished 1-over, trailing Pepperdine's 21-under. They shot a 2-under 282 in the final round, USD's second under-par round to close out the event.

Rounding out the scorers for USD in the final round was Donald Kay who bounced back from Thursday with a 4-under 67. Kay's Friday score was the second-best round by a Torero in the tournament, trailing Xu's 6-under in the second round.

Kay finished tied for 20th with an 8-over 221 (80-74-67).

Evan Kawai, competing as an individual, completed the tournament in a tie for 17th, carding a 6-over 219 (74-74-71). He was the top scorer by a USD individual in the field.
