Now, is your opportunity to be a part of the nationally ranked USD Dance Team! Cheer for our Torero champions, and dance at Torero football, basketball and other games! Get involved in the USD student community and the surrounding San Diego community. This is your chance to become a member of one of the most well respected dance teams in the West Coast Conference.

TRYOUT INFORMATION
Date: Accepting entries NOW through May!!!

What to SEND to achappell@sandiego.edu :
- Completed tryout application (forms available online)
- Signed contract page
- Headshot to attach to Tryout Application
- Video clip(s) of these dance requirements: best technical turn, a turn sequence, best technical leap, any acrobatic/tumbling/hip-hop tricks (i.e. aerials, head kips, etc), and a recent school or studio dance routine (preferably jazz, hip hop, or pom).
Tryout Process
• All necessary forms and application will be available online. All forms, paperwork, and video clips are required to audition.
• Coach Anna Haskell will email you with one of the following decisions based on your videos: accepted, called-back, or not accepted.
• The judging and scoring will be based on completion of video requirements, technical ability, and showmanship.
• Individual interviews may be conducted via email or FaceTime.
USD Dance Team VIRTUAL Audition!
• We will announce the 2020-2021 USD Dance Team on Instagram in May. Applicants will be personally notified of their position prior to the public announcement.
Requirements:
Each dancer is required to attend all practices during the season. We practice Tuesday and Thursday evenings, and Sunday morning. Dancers are also required to attend all home football games, basketball games, and other required events.
Dancers are required to attend choreography camp in Las Vegas July 19-20 2020.
Dancers are also required to come early to school in August and January for our semester prep camps.
In March we travel for Las Vegas for the annual West Coast Conference.
Upon making the team, dancers must send a check for team fees to: USD ATHLETICS- DANCE TEAM. Team fees are $850 for rookie dancers and $400 for returning dancers. This covers some apparel and choreography. Other uniforms, apparel, choreography, music, and team expenses are funded through the school and fundraising.
