SAN DIEGO, CA — As the 2024-25 basketball season comes to a close, the USD Dance Team celebrates another year of elevating game-day experiences and fostering school spirit. Throughout the season, the team brought energy and excitement to football, men's basketball, and women's basketball games, captivating fans and creating a positive atmosphere at each event.
USD Dance in Action
- Performed 105 times throughout the season
- Game-day performances included:
- Football – 2 dances per game + crowd hype
- Men's and Women's Soccer – 1 dance per game + crowd hype
- Men's and Women's Basketball – 2 dances per game + crowd hype
- Baseball – Future involvement planned
- Community & Campus Engagement:
- Hosted youth camps and clinics for local high school dancers
- Participated in campus events and community outreach
- Represented USD at key moments such as new coaching press conferences
- Attended the WCC Tournament in Las Vegas to support USD Athletics
- Professional Development:
- Attended Pro Action Dance Camp (learned 30+ dances in 48 hours)
Meet the Coach – KC Hellenkamp
Leading the USD Dance Team is Head Coach KC Hellenkamp, whose 25+ years of experience in elite dance training and professional performance spans New York City, New Jersey, Europe, and Los Angeles. Her deep knowledge of choreography, technique, and performance has helped shape USD Dance into a high-level program.
Coach Hellenkamp's Philosophy:
"I'm a huge believer in coaching with positivity and commitment, You get out what you put in. Our team is successful and confident because of the work we put in and because of the commitment we have to each other."
