Football Travels to Presbyterian Seeking Fourth Straight Win

SAN DIEGO — San Diego Football (3-4, 3-1 PFL) will take its three-game winning streak to the road on Saturday, continuing Pioneer Football League (PFL) play at Presbyterian (2-4, 0-3 PFL). 

With a 13-10 win over Drake on Homecoming last weekend, Head Coach Dale Lindsey tied Brian Fogarty for the most wins in program history (71). 

The contest is set to begin at 10 a.m. PT and will be streamed live on ESPN+. The Voice of the Toreros Jack Cronin has the radio call on USDToreros.com. Live statistics will be available on gobluehose.com.

ALL-TIME SERIES VERSUS PRESBYTERIAN

• The teams have only met once, with USD earning a 24-21 win last spring. 

• Mason Randall finished 23-of-34 for 301 yards with two touchdowns. Emilio Martinez set a new career high with 295 all-purpose yards, rushing 22 times for 124 yards on the ground and hauling in six catches for 75 yards.

• Michael Carner finished with 107 yards on nine catches and a touchdown, while Derek Kline added 58 yards on four catches and another USD touchdown.

• Kama Kamaka led the way defensively with eight tackles (six solo), including one tackle for a loss of two yards.

LAST TIME OUT

• A strong defensive effort, two long field goals, and a timely touchdown propelled San Diego past Drake (2-5, 1-3 PFL) last Saturday, 13-10.

• Freshman kicker Pablo Tager tied the program record with a 53-yard field goal in the third quarter to knot the game at 3-3, and kicker Brandon Eickert connected on the eventual game-winning 44-yard field goal with 9:50 left in the fourth.

• Led by Muhindo Kapapa's three sacks, including two on the last drive of the game, the defensive unit allowed just 10 points and 222 total yards.

• Late in the third quarter, quarterback Mason Randall fired a 10-yard touchdown pass to tight end Michael Gadinis to tie the game at 10-10. Running back Terrence Smith produced 117 total yards on 19 rushes and three catches.
 

LINDSEY ON THE CUSP OF HISTORY

• San Diego Head Coach Dale Lindsey is just one win away from a program record. With the win over Drake last Saturday, he tied Brian Fogarty for the most wins in USD football history (71).

• Lindsey is now in his ninth season at the helm of USD. The three-time PFL Coach of the Year and four-time national coach of the year finalist is 71-25 in his head coaching career as well as a 60-6 record in conference play.
