THE BREAKDOWN
In the first game of the 2021-22 regular season, San Diego defeated La Verne, 103-38. It marked the largest margin of victory since 1973-74, when the Toreros defeated La Verne 134-68. Six different San Diego players scored in double-figures.
Nevada is also 1-0 after defeating Eastern Washington in its season opener, 91-76. Five different players scored in double-figures, led by 22 points from Desmond Cambridge Jr.
ALL-TIME SERIES
Nevada leads the all-time series 12-4, including a 79-72 win in December of 2020.
Joey Calcaterra scored 12 points in the loss.
UP NEXT
USD will remain on the road to face Cal on Monday. The Golden Bears have a slight 2-1 advantage in the all-time series. The teams last met during the 2006-07 season, when USD earned a 72-67 win.
