SAN DIEGO—The Toreros are traveling to San Diego State University on Wednesday, December 1 at 6 PM to play the Aztecs. Coming off a tough loss on Sunday, the Toreros are fired up and ready to come home with a win.

THE BREAKDOWN
The Toreros are off to a strong start in this season with a record of 4-2 after hosting The Dana on Mission Bay Holiday Tournament this past weekend. San Diego (4-2, 0-0) triumphed over Fresno State (2-4, 0-0) with a 68-64 win on Saturday, November 26 which qualified them for the championship game. San Diego fell short in a well-fought game on Sunday, November 27 resulting in a 56-64 loss to Nebraska (7-0, 0-0). 

Over the weekend, the top scorers were Steph Gorman, Ayanna Khalfani, and Sydney Hunter. Leading the Toreros, Steph Gorman scored a combined 27 points across both games; 17 on Saturday and 10 on Sunday. Next, Sydney Hunter scored 19 points across both games; 10 on Saturday and 9 on Sunday. The third leading scorer this weekend was Ayanna Khalfani with 16 points; 10 on Saturday and six on Sunday. 

The Toreros are 4-2 (0-0 WCC) ahead of Wednesday's matchup against the San Diego State Aztecs (4-3, 0-0 Mountain West).

San Diego State leads the series all time with 15 wins and 25 losses. Their most recent match up on December 5, 2020 resulted in a 64-56 loss under head coach Cindy Fisher.
