SAN DIEGO—The Toreros will continue playing on the road as they head to Northridge, CA to play CSUN on Sunday, December 5, 2021 at 2 PM in The Matadome Arena. Coming off a 12 point win against San Diego State University on Wednesday, the Toreros are ready to continue their winning streak on the road. 

THE BREAKDOWN
In the team's seventh game of the 2021-22 regular season, San Diego defeated San Diego State 63-51 at Viejas Arena. Sydney Hunter had the team's first double-double of the season with ten points and 11 rebounds. Hunter was one rebound short of tying her personal record of 12 rebounds against LMU on December 20, 2019. 

The top scorers were Steph Gorman, Kiera Oakry, and Sydney Hunter. Leading the Toreros' offensive efforts, Gorman scored 14 points, Oakry had 11, and Hunter ended with 10. Gorman was 4-6 from the three-point line and made half of the Toreros' eight three-pointers that night. Overall, San Diego was aggressive on offense and beat State in points off the bench with 16 compared to the Aztecs' six. The Toreros also beat State on the fast break with eight points compared to four. 

The Toreros are 5-2 (0-0 WCC) ahead of Sunday's matchup against CSUN 3-3 (0-0 Big West). This is the 22nd time the teams will match up. 
  
ALL-TIME SERIES
San Diego leads the series all time 17-4 with a winning streak of nine. The Toreros and Matadors last faced off in the 2019-20 season resulting in a 59-40 win under head coach Cindy Fisher.

Following the match up against CSUN on Sunday, the Toreros will continue playing on the road against UC Irvine. They face off on Saturday, December 11 at 2 p.m. at the Bren Events Center.
