Toreros Fall Versus Trojans

Freshman McBride wins lone match for San Diego

LOS ANGELES - San Diego women's tennis (1-2) was defeated by No. 15 USC by a final of 6-1 Saturday.

The Toreros fell behind early when Solymar Colling and Elizabeth Goldsmith were defeated 6-1. USC clinched the doubles point 6-2 victory of the pairing of Maria Tyrina and Abigail Desiatnikov.

San Diego was defeated in five of six singles matches.

The lone victory for the Toreros came from freshman Jordyn McBride who won her match 3-6, 6-4, 1-0 (10-7).

San Diego returns home this Monday Feb. 22 as they take on Hawaii. Fans can follow along from the livestats here.
