Toreros Look to Rebound Against Portland

San Diego looks to keep WCC title hopes alive

SAN DIEGO - San Diego men's soccer (2-2-1, 2-1-1 WCC) will face Portland (2-2-1, 1-1-1 WCC) on Sunday afternoon at 1 p.m. (PT) inside Torero Stadium.

Due to current state and county guidelines, fans will not be permitted inside Torero Stadium. Fans can follow along by tuning into the WCC Network, following along with live statistics coverage on USDToreros.com or following San Diego women's soccer on social media for live updates.

LAST TIME OUT
  • The Toreros returned to the pitch after a hard fought 1-0 battle against a nationally-ranked Loyola Marymount team.
  • Goalkeeper Marley Mascarenas recorded a new season high with nine saves to keep the match close.
  • The Toreros defense held the No. 13 Lions in check for most of the contest, with freshman Ross Johnstone and senior Alex Churness each registering a shot to continue their streak of good play.

INSIDE WCC STANDINGS
  • After dropping last week's match, the Toreros are three points back of the first place LMU Lions, two points back of second place San Francisco and even on points with Saint Mary's in the conference standings.
  • Sunday's opponent Portland sits right below San Diego in the conference standings with four points.
