STOCKTON, Calif - San Diego women's tennis (7-3, 1-0 WCC) began conference play with a 7-0 sweep of Pacific (3-6, 0-1 WCC) on the road on Friday. 

"We played against the Tigers and the wind and we came out on top due patience and discipline.", said head coach Sherri Stephens. "We are proud of the team and we will continue to improve." 

The Toreros hit the ground running with a 6-3 doubles win by No. 74 Solymar Colling and Elizabeth Goldsmith, marking their eight straight win. San Diego clinched the doubles point with a 6-3 win by the pairing of Jordyn McBride and Abigail Desiatnikov 

In singles play, Victoria Kalaitzis pushed the lead to 2-0 with a 6-1, 6-1 win on court five and Kati Kukaras made it 3-0 with a 6-0, 6-1 win on court six. The match was clinched by Colling, who picked up her seventh straight singles win, with a 6-3, 6-2 win on court one. 

In the remaining singles matches, Desiatnikov won 6-2, 6-0, Jordyn McBride won 7-5, 6-3 and Elizabeth Goldsmith her first set 7-5 and won the match when her opponent retired with Goldsmith up 5-1 in the second set. 

The Toreros will look to make it 2-0 in WCC play on Saturday when they take on St. Mary's on the road. The match will begin at 11 a.m. (PT).
