SAN DIEGO—Roxie Wiblin and
Thana Fayad earned AVCA Pacific South All-Region honors, as announced Tuesday by the organization.

Wiblin was named to the All-Region team, while Fayad earned Honorable Mention after the two outside hitters led No. 21 San Diego's offense to a .260 hitting percentage that ranked among the top teams in the nation all season.

It is the first all-region recognition for both Toreros, after earning All-WCC First Team honors earlier this season.

Wiblin currently ranks 36th in the nation, averaging 4.22 kills per set and is hitting at a .295 clip. A two-time WCC Offensive Player of the Week, Wiblin started all 16 matches during the regular season.

The senior outside hitter leads the team with 249 kills on the year, adding 19 aces and 18 blocks for a team-high 279 points. Wiblin recorded double-digit kills in all but one match during the regular season, finishing with nine double-doubles and 170 total digs.

Fayad leads the Toreros with a .317 hitting percentage and is averaging 3.30 kills per set. The graduate student appeared in 14 of 16 matches during the regular season and finished with 156 kills.

Fayad has also tallied 17 aces and 22 blocks to collect 193.5 points and recorded four double-doubles for USD with 114 total digs this season.

Both Wiblin and Fayad are now in consideration for All-America honors.

San Diego finished the regular season 12-4 and earned its 11th consecutive NCAA Tournament bid. The Toreros will take on Texas A&M- Corpus Christi on Wednesday at 9 a.m. (PT) in the opening round in Omaha, Neb.
